University of Minnesota officials say ticket sales are brisk for Saturday's football game between the Gophers and Penn State, two unbeaten teams that are both ranked in the top 15.

And if they don't sell every single ticket?

"I don't think it would be a disappointment," said Wierzbicki. "We've seen tremendous responses from our fans both here, around the state, in the community, as well as across the nation. We know we're going to have a tremendous group in the stadium."

The largest announced home crowd of the season for the Gophers was 49,112 for the season-opening win over South Dakota St.

Available tickets for Saturday's game start at $65 each at TCF Bank Stadium.

There hasn't been a home crowd of more than 50,000 for the Gophers since 2015, when the announced attendance surpassed that mark six times in seven home games.

The Gophers finished 6-7 that season, which when coach Jerry Kill stepped down for health reasons midway through the schedule.

Penn State and the Gophers are among the seven teams in major college football with unbeaten records.

Both were off last week, with the Nittany Lions now ranked 5th in the AP poll and the Gophers at number 13
