Minnesota Department of Health officials say the number of deaths because of COVID-19 now sits at 18 with 53 more confirmed cases. The total number of cases in the state is now 742, with slightly more women than men. 75 people are hospitalized with 38 of them needing care in the ICU. That marks a jump of 11 ICU cases since yesterday. Nearly 23-thousand people have been tested so far.

According to health department statistics, the majority of cases were contracted through community transmission, and the median age for most of the cases is 47. Elderly people are most likely to require hospitalization. 373 patients in Minnesota have recovered and no longer need to be isolated.
