Many Twin Cities Tim Hortons donut and sandwich shops are closing

The website for Tim Hortons coffee, donut and sandwich shops claims stores in 13 locations in Minnesota.

Tim Hortons locations that have closed or are closing:

  • Brooklyn Park
  • Brooklyn Center
  • Eagan
  • Forest Lake
  • Savage
  • Maplewood
  • Minneapolis
  • St. Paul
  • University of Minnesota

That representative added that projections provided by the parent company were misleading.

A few of the stores are staying open in the Twin Cities, including the Tim Hortons in the Mall of America.

Based in Toronto and founded in 1964 by hockey Hall-of-Famer Tim Horton, the shops known lovingly throughout Canada as "Timmy Ho's" has nearly 5,000 locations in 14 countries.
