State health department officials are keeping a close eye on college towns, as COVID-19 leads to another student quarantine.
The latest involves Winona State University, where health department officials say there are more than 200 positive cases right now. School leaders say most in-person classes are shifting online, and they're not aware of any serious illness. MDH Infectious Disease Director Kris Ehresmann says the department's higher ed team is reaching out to all campuses on the proper guidance right now but says they can only do so much.

"It's really going to be up to the students as to whether or not we're going to continue to see transmission. Because as we've mentioned on earlier calls the transmission that we are seeing is really focused on social activities outside of the learning setting and not so much based on interactions on campus."
Ehresmann says they're also keeping a close eye on colleges in Moorhead and Mankato where positive case numbers have increased in recent days. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has also quarantined its campus.
