The Vikings are going to stick with Joss Dobbs at quarterback despite dropping the last two games.
Dobbs, who came to Minnesota in a trade after Viking starter Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles tendon and was lost for the season, won the first two games with the Vikings in Atlanta and home against New Orleans, giving the team hope for the postseason despite losing Cousins.
But after the two straight losses in Denver and home against Chicago, there were questions about whether head coach Kevin O'Connell would stick with Dobbs or turn to a QB that has been in the organization for a longer period, Nick Mullens. Or perhaps turning back to rookie Jaren Hall, who was effective in a short stint in Atlanta before suffering a concussion.
Dobbs has struggled a bit with turnovers especially in the loss to Chicago where he threw four interceptions.
The good news for Dobbs and the Vikings is star wide receiver Justin Jefferson will be back off the injured list. Jefferson needed seven weeks to recover from a pulled hamstring, a notoriously tricky injury. But all reports are Jefferson is 100% and ready to go.
The Vikings are in Las Vegas to take on the Raiders Sunday in the late afternoon game. The Vikes are 6-6, tied with the Packers and three games behind Detroit in the NFC North.
They're on the playoff bubble right now but Green Bay has been closing fast and has a much easier schedule to end the season. The Vikings play the Lions twice with the Packers in-between to end the season in what will be a crucial three-game stretch.
