Tragedy in Fridley where a 4-year old boy is dead after wandering into a pond near his home.
It happened Tuesday afternoon just before 1:30 in the 1600 block of Rice Creek Road.
Investigators received a call for help to find the boy when it was realized he was missing. After being pulled from the water, the child was given life-saving measures, taken to the hospital but did not survive.
Fridley Police, the Anoka County Sheriff's Office and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner are still looking into the suspected drowning.
It's the second time in a week a child had to be pulled from the water. On Monday, a boy was rescued from a Woodbury pond. His condition is not known.
