The half-century old missing person case in Stearns County may be a step closer to being solved.

The sheriff there says this past weekend, a fisherman on the Mississippi River near Sartell, Minnesota spotted an object that resembled a car on their sonar.

Dive teams confirmed it was in fact a 1960s era vehicle, badly deteriorated but basically intact. A local tow company pulled it out of the water.

Investigators are now looking into whether the vehicle is connected to the disappearance of Roy Benn, who was last seen driving 1963 Buick Electra on September 24, 1967.

Benn was 59-years-old  and declared legally dead in 1975.

He was also said to be in possession of a large sum of money at the time of his disappearance.
