A developing story out of Chaska involving the discovery of a dead person.
Investigators are on the scene in the southwestern Twin Cities suburb after someone discovered a person dead outside an apartment building.
Officers responded to a report of someone lying in the grass near the entrance of the building at 3000 Chestnut Street North about 8:15 Wednesday morning.
Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, and cause of death.
"It's definitely, I don't think anybody expects to walk out of their apartment building and find someone on the ground," Chaska Police spokesperson Kevin Wright says. "We're still waiting on a report from the medical examiner's office but at this point, there's no evidence of foul play."
Police say as of now, there is no threat to the public and the family of the victim has been notified. Wright describes the situation as "unusual" for Chaska.
