Dean Phillips, the Democratic incumbent for Minnesota Congressional District 3, has won his reelection bid against Republican Tom Weiler, according to polling results.

Phillips will now serve his third term in the US House of Representatives after taking down long-time Republican Incumbent Erik Paulsen in 2018.

Phillips was the first Democrat to take hold of the seat, dating back to 1961 when Roy Wier held it.

During his term, Phillips has been very involved at Capitol Hill, not holding back when it comes to sharing his opinion. This included when he gave an interview with News Talk 830 WCCO’s Chad Hartman, saying that he thought President Joe Biden should let another Democrat run for President in 2024.

Nonetheless, Phillips will hold onto his seat in Washington for another two years serving Minnesota Congressional District 3.
