Two Minneapolis beaches are closed temporarily because of elevated levels of E. coli in the water.
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board says Thomas Beach at Bde Maka Ska and Lake Hiawatha Beach are closed after health inspectors sampled water, and found high bacteria levels.
Two other beaches in the county, Beach Park on Minnetonka and a beach in Mound were also closed this week for high levels of the bacteria, possibly from the recent rainfall.
The MPRB posts all water sampling test results online.
