It's back to the bargaining table Friday for Minneapolis educators and Minneapolis Public Schools.
The Minneapolis Federation of Educators says they've seen progress after two full days of negotiations and citywide pickets which have drawn hundreds of supporters.
Teachers are asking for better pay, smaller class sizes, and stronger special education staffing.
Talks have been going on since April with the union presenting 35 proposals across nine public sessions.
Educators will strike Tuesday if no deal is reached by then.
Meanwhile, the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board is preparing to extend its rec center hours in the event of a potential teachers strike.
Recreation Director Newmann Thomas says they're prepared to staff up nine rec centers from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. weekdays if that happens.
