On this heels of this weekend's rash of major interstate closures, a new one has drivers venting and looking for answers.

A stretch of I-394 is closing for up to two years for bridge and pavement work, closing an EZ-Pass lane in the process.

Tonka Bay Republican State Representative Andrew Myers telling Vineeta Sawkar on the WCCO Morning News concerns from constituents prompted him to send a letter to the head of MNDot.

"People are becoming more and more frustrated with these simultaneous projects. They feel like they're really being impacted - especially out here in the western suburbs," says Myers.

Myers says the questions he's asking are valid.

"To see what they're looking at, what this investment looks like for the future, if this is really going to make drivers safer, more efficiency, speed and if they're doing everything they can," Myers tells Vineeta.

Myers added he understands MNDot only has small windows in the summer to get the work done, but has asked leaders to consider other solutions, like having crews work around the clock, or easing congestion by using extra shoulder space to make another lane.
