Minneapolis voters opting to vote in-person during this year's presidential election could be snagging some free pizza and other snacks along with their "I Voted" sticker.
Pizza to the Polls will visit 25 cities including Minneapolis October 29 through November 3 with a goal of delivering treats to polling locations with long lines throughout early voting and Election Day.
Efforts to get food to polling locations for poll workers and voters standing in lines with long lines began the weekend before the 2016 presidential election. Pizza to the Polls received 1,728 donations totaling $43,307 leading to 25,000 slices of pizza being consumed.
Pizza to the Polls is working with Uber Eats, Milk Bar, Shake Shack, and others this year to safely deliver the food to polling locations via food trucks.
According to their website, workers will consist of trained professionals who will be wearing masks and gloves and will be equipped with hand sanitizer, soap, disinfectant, and additional cleaning supplies.
