The European Christmas market behind the Union Depot is a sea of dozens of wooden huts adorned with greenery and string lights.
Spokeswoman Maurina Rondeau says they’ve worked hard to make it an authentic experience.
“Many of our market vendors are either European descent or import from Europe, so you'll find different wares and gifting items that you would not find anywhere else in the Twin Cities or in this region.
The market is an admission-free public event based on the festive open-air Christkindl Markets that spring up in Germany, Austria, and other European countries during the Advent season. The market also feature specialty food and drinks, such as Glühwein, a mulled-wine traditionally made in Germany.
Rondeau says more than 60 vendors are participating this year, as well as carolers, dancers and choirs.
The European Christmas market is open Friday through Sunday through December 18.
