A new study from the personal finance site WalletHub shows New Hampshire, Vermont and Minnesota are the best states in the country for job seekers.

The site examined everything from compensation to commute times to how positions are being taken over by artificial intelligence.

New Hampshire and Vermont took the top spots thanks to the smallest unemployment rate in the country at about 2%.

Minnesota was touted for a thriving health care industry, and good access to health care and retirement benefits. It also has the third-highest median household income, at over $82,000, adjusted for the cost of living, and the 10th-highest average monthly starting salary, at nearly $3,900.

Minnesota has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country, too, at just 2.7%. And for workers who are parents, Minnesota is the fourth-best state for both working moms and working dads.

Minnesota's neighbors to the west, North Dakota and South Dakota, also fared well ranking fifth and ninth respectively.

At the bottom of the list? West Virginia was dead last with Louisiana, Indiana, Kentucky and Alaska also near the bottom. See the full results here.
