Just like seemingly every weekend, there are some major road closures in the Twin Cities for construction and maintenance work.
Much of the construction work surrounds Interstate 94.

The eastbound lanes of the major artery in the heart of the Twin Cities will be closed between Minneapolis and Saint Paul between highway 280 and Interstate 35-E starting Friday night.
The detour takes traffic all the way up to highway 36 through Roseville.
The stretch of northbound 35-E that passes below the Saint Paul Cathedral will be closed, the detour going from Interstate 494 near Fort Snelling east to highway 52.

In the north metro is what MinDOT is calling a mega-mantenance project that'll shut down Interstate 694 westbound between New Brighton and Shingle Creek.
All of these closures are scheduled to reopen early Monday morning.
And, here's a heads up: Starting Monday, July 28, the Marion St. bridge over I-94 will be closed through late September.
