Nicolae Miu has been found guilty on all counts for his role in a deadly Apple River stabbing. The jury was handed the case on Wednesday and needed just six hours to reach a verdict.
The trial, which lasted seven days, included testimony from more than 40 witnesses. Their guilty verdict against Miu, 54, included one count of first-degree reckless homicide, four counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, and one count of battery.
The victims' families were in tears in the courtroom as the verdict was read.
Miu was accused of killing 17-year-old Isaac Schuman of Stillwater, Minnesota, and wounding Dante Carlson, Tony Carlson, Ryhley Mattison, and A.J. Martin, during their interaction on July 30, 2022.
Miu does not face life in prison as his heftiest charge was downgraded from intentional homicide to reckless homicide.
A sentencing date has not yet been set.
