A scary situation for Target shoppers in the St. Paul suburb of Woodbury, Minnesota.
Officials with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension say a Woodbury police officer and Washington County deputy shot a suspect who had pointed a gun at them after barricading himself inside a stolen car.
It happened in the parking lot of the Target Store on Valley Creek Road.
The officers were responding to call of a vehicle with stolen license plates. Investigators say the suspect fought with officers as they were attempting to arrest him before locking himself inside the car.
The suspect was taken to Regions Hospital. The officers are on standard administrative leave.
