Don't get used to the empty streets you see in the image above. Downtown Minneapolis is going to be crazy-busy this weekend.

There's Timberwolves playoff basketball. The Twins. Lion King. Comedian Anthony Jelesnik. And more.

"Kane Brown at Target Center Friday night," adds Tim Drew with Public Works.

There will be extra security, extra staff. Drew says the city will be prepared.

"We've done a lot of this stuff before with all Star games Super Bowls, final fours, things of that nature. So we're always kind of at the ready."

With so much congestion expected, he suggests making reservations for parking or parking somewhere besides downtown and using another mode of transportation.

"Maybe park a little bit on the periphery of downtown and take a shared bike or scooter," suggest Drew.

Buses and light rail are also options, except for the Metro Transit Green Line train.

"The Green Line is going to be down this weekend due to track repairs," Drew explains.

So plan accordingly.

"We have extra security in the ramps, extra staff to help people get in and out of the parking facilities," Drew told WCCO Radio. "Some way-finding folks, we have our way-finding signs that help people get to open ramps because some of these facilities probably will go full this weekend."

And have fun!
