Stargazers are in for a rare Halloween treat Saturday night.
For the first time since 1944, a full moon will appear on Halloween in most time zones. According to the Farmers' Almanac, a full moon last appeared on Halloween in 2001 in the Central and Pacific time zones.
The Halloween full moon also marks the second full moon in October, making it a Blue Moon. A Blue Moon has not appeared since March 2018 and the next one will appear in August 2023.
The next Halloween full moon won't happen again until 2039.
