
Another summer concert announcement Monday morning.
Grammy Award winners Hootie and the Blowfish are bringing their Summer Camp with Trucks Tour to Somerset Amphitheater in Wisconsin on Thursday August 8.
Opening acts for the tour include Collective Soul and Edwin McCain. Presale tickets will be available this Thursday, November 9 with general sales scheduled for Friday at 10:00 a.m.
Their debut album Cracked Rearview remains the 19th best selling album of all time here in the U.S. moving almost 15 million copies since it's release. The album's popularity grew after its release in 1994, becoming the best-selling album of 1995, and was one of the fastest-selling debut albums of all time.
The band went on hiatus in 2008 with members pursuing solo projects. The most successful of those came from frontman Darius Rucker who became a country music artist. He was the first Black country singer to have a number one song since Charley Pride in 1983 with "Don't Think I Don't Think About It". He landed his next two singles at number one as well.
The band reuinted in 2019 to release their first new studio album in 14 years.
Collective Soul is another 90s-era band with he singles "December", "The World I Know", and "Where the River Flows" all reaching the top of the Mainstream Rock charts in 1995. The group has stayed active and Collective Soul's eleventh studio album was released on August 12, 2022, entitled "Vibrating".
Edwin McCain is a singer-songwriter who's "I'll Be" (1998) and "I Could Not Ask for More" (1999) were radio top-40 hits in the U.S., and five of his albums have reached the Billboard 200. McCain has released eleven albums.
