We are learning more about a mass shooting at Boom Island Park in June.
A second suspect, 23-year old Marquez Demar Hill-Turnipseed, is behind bars and facing second-degree murder charges in connection with the June 1 mass shooting at Boom Island Park that left one woman dead and five other people hurt.
After being arrested in Chicago earlier this week, Hill-Turnipseed reportedly admitted to firing shots, claiming his involvement stemmed from a gang rivalry.
He says 'he was mad' when someone shot one of his friends and went back to the scene to retaliate.
WCCO has also learned that the shooting left one person paralyzed in addition to the death of a woman, 23-yera old Stageina Whiting.
Twenty-three-year-old Zyree Porter was arrested and charged last month. He is facing five counts of second-degree murder with intent but without premeditation and one count of second-degree murder for a drive-by shooting.
Since the violence, which Minneapolis Chief Brian O'Hara called "disgusting," there have been calls to close Boom Island Park and the parking lot earlier by some on the Minneapolis City Council.
