The sisters of a Minnesota doctor killed in a hit-and-run while walking her dogs in Mille Lacs County a year ago are renewing calls for the person who hit her to come forward.
Dr. Cathy Donovan, a well-known physician in the Onamia area, was struck along Highway 169. Her sister Christy Pemberton says the driver has escaped justice for far too long.
'This person drove down that highway with my sister on the hood of their car until she fell off or was thrown off," says Pemberton.
The original $10,000 reward in the case for information leading to an arrest and conviction has now been increased to $25,000.
"Every time a car speeds by me, even in the Twin Cities, I wonder if that person is the person who killed my sister. And yet the person who kills her seems not bothered by what they have done," says Dr. Robin Councilman and her sister Christy Pemberton who held a news conference Wednesday near Highway where she was struck and killed.
They're pleading for information in the case and for the driver to come forward.
Witnesses have said they saw a dark grey, four-door car in the area of Donovan's death. Police only found a windshield wiper at the scene.
The State Patrol is asking anyone with information to contact Sgt. Jason Brown at 218-316-3026 or at jason.brown@state.mn.us.
