Sun Country Airlines adds new routes, expands service

As air travel is starting to recover after the COVID-19 pandemic, Minnesota's Sun Country Airlines are expanding their service routes along with adding new destinations. The new routes and services will add nine new airports to their network.

The airline is adding destinations like San Antonio, TX, Fairbanks, AK, Cincinnati, OH, Hartford, CT and Kalispell, MT.

The new airports that will be added to their network are Bradley International Airport (BDL), John Wayne Airport (SNA), George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), Glacier Park International Airport (FCA), Fairbanks International Airport (FAI), Jackson Hole Airport (JAC), Indianapolis International Airport (IND) and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).

According to a press release, Sun Country CEO Jude Bricker says that’s adding these new routes and cities is a sign that the travel slump COVID-19 brought the industry is turning around.

“We are excited to extend our network and offer people access to even more low-cost vacation options when they are ready to travel again. The past year has been a challenge for the travel industry but with increased access to COVID-19 tests and vaccinations, we’re starting to see that turnaround.”

These new routes will all begin service in May of this year.
