Governor Tim Walz will unveil a timeline on ending COVID 19 restrictions.
"Minnesotans are getting vaccinated, he has made plans to get Minnesota back to business as usual," Walz said Wednesday in a statment.
During a noon address Thursday, the Governor will announce a timeline to end all COVID-19 restrictions in Minnesota while doubling-down on vaccination efforts.
More than 2 million Minnesotans are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with around 59% of the state’s 16 and older population, having received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Officials say about 40% of the state's allocated vaccines will be targeted to under-served and isolated communities over the next four weeks.
On Wednesday, the Minnesota Department of Health announced 1,267 new COVID cases, and 17 deaths. Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 6,796 confirmed deaths in Minnesota due to COVID-19, and 582,576 confirmed cases.
We will air Governor Walz's announcement Thursday on the WCCO Radio Facebook page as well our other digital platforms.
