Union workers at dozens of Cub Foods stores will hit the picket lines early Friday morning.
The United Food and Commercial Workers Local 663 represents more than 3,000 employees at 33 Cub locations. Union leaders say employees have been working without a contract for about a month, after their last contract negotiated in 2018 expired.
Union member Jessica Haysen says they plan to let their feelings known starting Friday.
“We want to be treated fairly, we want to be protected, we want to be respected,” says Haysen. “We will be picketing at the Unified Community Stores. We will return to work Monday morning with pride, and hope to get an agreement on Tuesday the 11th.”
Cub management says they're disappointed in the strike vote but hope to reach an agreement.

Workers plan to picket at all 33 stores Friday and Saturday, and will take Easter Sunday off. Beyond that remains to be seen.
