A display of inflatable animals was infiltrated by a real bear recently when it decided to attack a 6-ft. tall blow-up reindeer decoration.

“I was laughing to myself, out in the street,” said Donna Hargett, a Monrovia, Calif., resident who witnessed the bear attacking her neighbor’s holiday decorations, according to CBS Los Angeles.

In a video, the bear can be seen trying to put the inflatable in a choke hold, swatting at it with its paws, tackling it to the ground, nuzzling it, whipping its head around and trying to take a bite out of its nylon leg. Another, larger bear can be seen coming up behind it.

“You could tell it was the mama, behind the baby,” said Hargett of the larger bear. “We see these two around all the time, they’re trouble.”

Eventually, the mama bear appears to convince her cub to give up the fight and it takes one more swipe at the reindeer’s antlers before disappearing from view.

Hargett told CBS that bears often pop up in their neighborhood, which is located in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. She said a bear even managed to climb through the window of her home to leave scratches on a wall and paw prints on a bed.

According to CBS, the inflatable reindeer didn’t suffer any serious injuries.
