Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills bring back a pair of familiar faces to their defensive line group for the home stretch of the 2024 season.
The team announced Wednesday the signing of defensive tackles Quinton Jefferson and Jordan Phillips to one-year contracts. Jefferson's signing was originally reported by Cleveland Browns beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot with The Plain Dealer.
Jefferson played only four games in Cleveland this season with one sack before being released ahead of Tuesday's NFL Trade Deadline.
The 31-year-old is set to play his second stint with the Bills after playing in Buffalo during the 2020 season, making four starts and recording three sacks and 23 total tackles.
Jefferson has bounced around the league since coming in as a former fifth-round pick (147th overall) of the Seattle Seahawks in 2016. He's also made stops with the Los Angeles Rams, Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets.
In 108 career NFL games, Jefferson has totaled 198 tackles, 27.5 sacks and four forced fumbles.
As for Phillips, this will be his third stint with the Bills since the 2018 season.
After finishing the 2023 season with the Bills, the veteran ended up signing in free agency with the New York Giants before being traded to the Dallas Cowboys.
However, Phillips only appeared in two games with Dallas, recording just one tackle. He was placed on Injured Reserve with a wrist injury, and was recently released before the NFL Trade Deadline on Tuesday.
During his parts of four seasons with the Bills, Phillips has appeared in 54 games, making 19 starts while accounting for 85 total tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 27 quarterback hits and 13.5 sacks.
The Bills return to practice on Wednesday before taking on the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday afternoon at Lucas Oil Stadium.
