Bills draft defensive tackle Deone Walker with 109th pick in 2025 NFL Draft

Buffalo moves up 23 picks with the Bears to get its second defensive tackle of the draft

Green Bay, Wis. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - To open Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills made their second trade of the weekend, moving up 23 spots from Pick 132 to Pick 109 in the fourth round with the Chicago Bears.

With the 109th overall pick, the Bills selected their third defensive lineman of the draft, taking defensive tackle Deone Walker out of the University of Kentucky.

The two-time team captain at Kentucky stands at 6-foot-7 and 331 pounds, and started in 36 of 37 career games played with the Wildcats. This included 35-straight starts from the 2022-24.

In those 37 games played, Walker totaled 132 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and 10 sacks, along with 13 quarterback hurries, six pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Walker is the second Kentucky defender drafted by the Bills in the 2025 NFL Draft. He joins teammate Maxwell Hairston in Buffalo, who was the team's first-round pick on Thursday night.

The 21-year-old was also former teammates at Kentucky with Buffalo's fourth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, running back Ray Davis.

Here is what NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein has to say about Walker:

"A defensive lineman with rare traits, Walker might require a heavier lean on projection over tape. He’s tight-hipped and too upright to really sink in and command the gaps as an even-front defensive tackle. His success rate rises once he’s able to kick out wider in the alignment and engage in more man-to-man battles. Consistent pocket pressure could come if he starts playing with better aggression to overwhelm protection with physical gifts. The tape was better in 2023, and there were times in 2024 that his conditioning showed up as an issue. Walker’s traits and upside could make him a more consistent NFL talent if he improves his technique and ramps up his motor."

Following Buffalo's second trade with the Bears in this draft, the Bills will next select in the fifth round with the 170th overall pick.
