Irvine, Calif. (WGR) - Just one day after making the exact opposite moves, the Buffalo Bills released cornerback Anthony Kendall and re-signed outside linebacker Mike Danna to the 53-man roster.
Roster move: - Signed OLB Mike Danna - Released CB Anthony Kendall
— Buffalo Bills PR (@BuffaloBillsPR) October 13, 2026
The original moves were made due to a number of injuries headed into the team's "Monday Night Football" matchup with the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium.
The Bills were already without starting nickel cornerback Dee Alford due to an ankle injury. They also didn’t have Te'Cory Couch available to be elevated from the practice squad because of a hamstring injury.
Those injuries, coupled with wide receivers D.J. Moore and Joshua Palmer, as well as defensive lineman Landon Jackson out of the lineup, required the Bills to add three players to the active roster for Monday night.
Wide receiver Trent Sheffield Sr. and defensive lineman Phidarian Mathis were elevated from the practice squad Monday.
Since the team is only allowed to elevate two players in a given week, they made the move to sign Kendall to the 53-man roster and released Danna to make room.
Kendall played a total of 31 snaps in the thrilling 37-34 overtime victory in Los Angeles.
It is expected that Kendall will be re-signed to the practice squad.
