Bills sign Dane Jackson, Kendrick Green to one-year contracts

Jackson returns to the Bills after spending the first four years of his career in Buffalo

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills announced two more depth signings in free agency on Friday, with one of those names being a familiar face to the secondary.

The Bills have signed cornerback Dane Jackson and guard Kendrick Green to one-year contracts. The signing of Jackson was first reported by NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo.

Jackson was a former seventh-round pick (239th overall) by the Bills in the 2020 NFL Draft out of the University of Pittsburgh.

In his four seasons in Buffalo, Jackson was a serviceable depth piece at cornerback, where he played 52 games, making 28 starts and recording 152 total tackles, two tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, 28 passes defended and three interceptions.

During the offseason last year, Jackson elected to sign with the Carolina Panthers as a free agent, but only played nine games, recording 23 total tackles and defending a pair of passes.

The Panthers released Jackson last month.

Jackson now re-joins the Bills' cornerbacks room that already consists of Christian Benford, Ja'Marcus Ingram, Taron Johnson and Daequon Hardy.

As for Green, he joins the Bills after spending the last two seasons with the Houston Texans. Over the course of 21 games played, Green started four of those contests.

The 26-year-old was a former third-round pick (87th overall) in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers out of the University of Illinois.
