Pittsford, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The big story of Sunday’s practice at Buffalo Bills training camp wasn’t who was not present, but who was.

Co-owner Kim Pegula made her first public appearance since her medical event over a year ago. Pegula sat in an SUV parked along the track just beyond the end zone, talking with family and security.

Injury update

Prior to practice, head coach Sean McDermott said there had been no significant injuries of note through the first three days.

On Sunday, wide receiver Bryan Thompson and cornerback Kyron Brown were both seen, within a few minutes of each other, walking off the field with trainers and into a medical tent.

Kincaid Watch!

It was another strong performance from rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid. From what we’ve seen through the first four practices, it’s apparent there may be plans for him to be a big part of the offense.

That said, things can always change once the pads come on and the blocking aspect has to come in to play. But so far, the rookie has looked every bit the part of the terrific pass-catcher he was known to be coming out of Utah.

Time-after-time, quarterback Josh Allen has found his new target in all different parts of the field, and Kincaid has seemingly always made the catch very naturally.

Firebaugh Allen

For his part, Allen was on target almost all morning. Obviously, there are no sacks and no one is hitting the quarterback, but he routinely completed passes to several different wideouts.

Poyer... again

Even though Allen was hitting almost everything, there were a couple of nice defensive plays, including safety Jordan Poyer coming up with a terrific interception of his quarterback in 11-on-11.

It was the second pick over the last few practices for Poyer, who looks as healthy and energetic as ever.

On this particular play, Poyer was moving to his right as he followed a receiver. Allen saw that and threw it behind him to another option. Poyer was able to stop quickly, reverse course and grab it.

Big man touchdown!

On another play, Matt Barkley tried to hit a screen pass, but defensive lineman Poona Ford wasn’t fooled, didn’t commit, and grabbed the ball as it floated down. The 6-foot, 311-pounder then turned around and took it over 70 yards the other way for a would-be touchdown.

After Ford got about 20 yards down field, Allen, who was standing with the rest of the offense behind the play watching, turned around and sprinted after Ford. He may have even caught him at the very end. It was close. But again, no tackling.

CB2

If Kaiir Elam or Christian Benford wind up the starter at cornerback opposite Tre'Davious White, it won’t be because Dane Jackson gave them the job easily.

After the play, Davis even gave Jackson some love to recognize how good of a play it was. McDermott did, as well.

Jackson, Elam, and Benford are all seeing time with both the first and second units.

Torrence getting plenty of looks

Rookie offensive guard O'Cyrus Torrence continues to get plenty of looks with the first unit. He lined up there again on multiple occasions on Sunday. Ryan Bates did, as well.

MLB madness

I asked McDermott prior to practice if he has a timeline of when he’d like to settle the middle linebacker spot. He said he does, but they aren’t even close to that point, especially with no pads on yet.

It was another heavy rotation in that spot on Sunday, with Tyrel Dodson, Terrel Bernard, A.J. Klein, and Baylon Spector all still vying for it.

Spector also played some on the weakside.

It’s going to be a while before we really can get a grip on this one.

A Harty party

Wide receiver Deonte Harty is looking like a do-it-all type of player for the offense. He’s continually playing in different roles, and showing off a variety of skill sets.

Next up:

It’s another 9:45 a.m. ET practice on Monday morning, and the pads will go on for the first time.
