Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills are reportedly clearing more cap space ahead of the start of the NFL league year Wednesday afternoon.
According to a report from ESPN Bills beat reporter Alaina Getzenberg, the Bills are restructuring defensive tackle Ed Oliver's contract before the 4 p.m. start of the new league year. This will create an additional $10 million in cap space for the Bills for the 2025 season.
Oliver signed his current four-year deal worth $68 million back in the 2023 ofseason. The deal had roughly $24 million guaranteed at signing, along with $45 million guaranteed across the whole contract.
In his six seasons with the Bills, Oliver has appeared in 92 games, recording 27 sacks and 231 tackles in that time. He has also forced eight fumbles, recovered a fumble, registered an interception and forced a safety.
The 27-year-old was drafted by the Bills out of the University of Houston with the ninth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
