Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - Every year, it happens. The NFL season seems so far away for so long. Then, like a Josh Allen fastball, it’s suddenly right in front of your face in a hurry.

This year, it came even faster for Buffalo Bills fans since their team is playing in the NFL’s opening Thursday Night game for the first time in franchise history.

A big reason the Bills were chosen for the game against the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams is because they are not only Super Bowl contenders themselves, but even the betting-line favorites in Las Vegas.

But with a loaded AFC, it’s going to be a grind. Nothing will be easy, nor settled, until the end.

So how does it end?

Division Winners:

AFC East: Buffalo Bills
AFC North: Baltimore Ravens
AFC South: Indianapolis Colts
AFC West: Los Angeles Chargers

AFC Wild Card Teams:
Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos

NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles
NFC North: Green Bay Packers
NFC South: New Orleans Saints
NFC West: Los Angeles Rams

NFC Wild Card Teams:
Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

AFC Championship Game:
- Bills over Chargers

NFC Championship Game:
- Rams over Packers

Super Bowl LVII:
- Bills over Rams

Maybe I should have learned my lesson, or maybe I was just a year too early, but I’m doing it again. I’m going back to the same Super Bowl pick I had a year ago, when I was right on one team, but 13 seconds and an AFC Championship Game away from the other.

The Super Bowl LVI we should have had is the Super Bowl LVII we’ll get. But this time, it won’t be played in one team’s home stadium. It’ll be in the Arizona desert where the Bills - and Western New York’s - championship drought will finally end.
