Los Angeles, Calif. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - With their second pick of the fourth round in the 2025 NHL Draft, the Buffalo Sabres turned to the goaltender position by selecting Samuel Meloche with the 116th overall pick.
Meloche took the reins as the starting goalie for the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) this past season, playing 51 games and tying for second in the league with 30 wins. He also registered a .900 save percentage and a 2.90 goals-against average during his 2024-25 campaign.
In the QMJHL playoffs, Meloche went 8-3-2 in 13 playoff games with a .911 save percentage and a 2.06 goals-against average.
