Alok stops by channel Q to talk about his new single 'Jungle'.
Alok, known for dance hits like 'Deep Down' and 'All By Myself' joins DJ Alex D to talk about his latest release 'Jungle' that he made in collaboration with Grammy Award-winning duo The Chainsmokers & TikTok's Global #1 Song of the Summer star, Mae Stephens. He also talks about his experience performing at some of the biggest venues around the world, how his DJ parents inspired him to become a DJ, and a possible collaboration with Beyoncé.
Alok has had a busy summer on his World Tour. During their discussion Alok and Alex talk about the differences in dance music around the world and how Alok adapts his set for different cities. Alok has made stops at some of the biggest and most iconic events and venues this year such as Tomorrowland Belgium, Neversea Festival in Romania, Parookaville in Germany, Untold Festival in Romania, Ilesoniq Festival in Vancouver, and Moonrise Festival in Baltimore.
Some of Aloks recent releases that you can hear on CHANNEL Q include 'Car Keys' with global pop sensation Ava Max and an official remix of the latest Sam Smith and Calvin Harris track 'Desire'.
Alok is also a huge advocate for environmental and social issues. In 2020, Alok founded Alok Institute, which coordinates social impact philanthropy actions in Brazil and Africa. In September 2022, he became the first musician to perform on the roof of the United Nations headquarters in New York City. The performance launched his project, The "Future Is Ancestral," a climate change partnership between Alok Institute and UN Global Compact with support from Greenpeace, during the UN General Assembly and on the eve of Climate Week. The event included panels, a live performance of Alok with indigenous peoples of the Amazon, and a preview of his
upcoming documentary and album.
