In the midst of celebrating his seventh career Super Bowl, Tom Brady sent an apology to Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu.
According to ESPN's Jenna Laine, texted an apology to Mathieu for several on-field verbal altercations during the game.
Brady and Mathieu went jawed back-and-forth multiple times in the first half, which caused the Chiefs safety to point his finger in Brady's face following a touchdown, which resulted in a 15-yard penalty.
“I thought I played as hard as I can today,” Mathieu said after the game. “Listen, Tom Brady’s a great quarterback. I never really saw that side of Tom Brady, to be honest. But whatever. No comment. it’s over with. I’m done with it.”
Then Mathieu took to social media in a since deleted tweet and said Brady, "called me something I won't repeat."
The report says the text message praised Mathieu for his passion, calling him an "incredible leader, champion and class act" and expressed a desire to apologize in person down the road.
