Iconic NBA play-by-play announcer and former WFAN sportscaster, Mike Breen has been elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a recipient of The Curt Gowdy Media Award.
Named after a former sportscaster and president of the basketball Hall of Fame, The Curt Gowdy Media Award is presented annually to outstanding writers and broadcasters.
Breen is currently in his 28th season as an NBA announcer, having started in 1991 as a radio voice for the Knicks on WFAN. From 1988-2000. Breen also contributed as a sports anchor on WFAN’s 'Imus in the Morning.' As the lead play-by-play announcer for the NBA on ABC and ESPN, Breen has called every NBA Finals series since 2006, 14 straight years.
Breen has also been part of the Knicks telecasts on MSG Networks since 1998, alongside his former radio broadcast partner and fellow Hall of Famer Walt “Clyde” Frazier.
