Joe Schoen told reporters that Daniel Jones is progressing well from ACL surgery, and is expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

Boomer believes it will be yet another prove-it year for the Giants quarterback, and he will be looking to prove his doubters wrong in what will be another season of him starting under center for New York.

“I think he’s gonna be highly motivated, I think he’s gonna have a chip on his shoulder, just like he did two years ago,” Boomer said. “He’s heard all the criticism that has come from people like me. He’s got everything to play for.”

Boomer expects Jones to remain the starter, but that doesn’t mean Schoen and company won’t be looking at Jones’ future successor come draft time in April.

“I would think the Giants are gonna give Daniel Jones another shot here,” Boomer said. That doesn’t mean they’re not gonna draft a quarterback. I think they have to. They would be stupid not to. I’m not saying in the first round. I’m saying in that Bo Nix range. I don’t think Bo Nix is going to go in the top 20, do you?”
