Tiki Barber expressed doubt on Wednesday about whether Aaron Rodgers is cut out for New York, based on how he reacted to national reports regarding his upcoming darkness excursion.
Tiki, after hearing Rodgers’ interview on The Pat McAfee Show, said he already doesn’t think Rodgers would last in New York’s media landscape if he is already clashing with reporters about his offseason plans.
Gio isn’t buying that idea, and says Rodgers has already shown he can handle it.
“We gotta get rid of this idea that the New York media is greater than everything else, because Aaron Rodgers is the most talked about guy in the NFL right now,” Gio said. “He’s already fighting everything right now!
“It got like that in Green Bay. Remember r-e-l-a-x, and the thumb and the foot, and getting ‘immunized?’”
Rodgers has indeed faced plenty of media scrutiny in recent years, but Boomer reminded Gio that while Rodgers has seen his share of criticism, it is nothing like New York, which can be a shock to many first arriving in the Big Apple.
“When I first came here, I left Cincinnati when there were eight or nine writers covering the team,” Boomer recalled. “I came here, and there were 40 people interviewing me.”
