Boomer and Gio will return on Tuesday to begin previewing the NFL season, so on his final day filling in, Joe B made his predictions for the local squads before the season gets going.
Joe is much higher on his Jets than the Giants, but expects both teams to be competitive.
“Giants will finish 9-8, and they will finish third again in the NFC East,” Joe predicted. “I’m gonna say no Wild Card. They’re gonna be close. They’ll be playing for a playoff spot late, but I don’t think they get there.”
As for the Jets, Joe has long demanded that the team win an AFC East title in year one under Rodgers, and he believes it will happen, and a little more afterward.
“I want 13-4, but I’m gonna be a little more realistic,” Joe said. “I’m gonna say 11-6, and a division title. It’s very difficult for me to ever predict a Super Bowl, but I will say they get to the AFC Championship game.
“Can you imagine us playing an AFC Championship game at home? That would be nuts.”
