The Mets are once again the butt of the joke among baseball fans, with their manager being fired and general manager resigning after arguably the most disappointing season in franchise history.
But C-Mac says rival fans should get their jokes and laughs in now, because now that there is a clear voice in the front office to run baseball operations in David Stearns, the team will finally have the stability is has sought since Steve Cohen bought the team.
“When a guy like Stearns comes in, and ultimately, the idea that a guy like Stearns hasn’t come in yet had been the biggest problem for this ownership and this team,” C-Mac said. “To me, that’s the story…it’s not so much that Billy Eppler resigned. He wasn’t the one making decisions. It’s the end of the nonsense that has gone on with the hierarchy of this team, and the decision makers of this team since this new owner came into business.
“It just felt like they never had this thing situated. Ultimately, under this ownership group, everything has never been settled…it sucks for Billy Eppler, I get it, I don’t think he did an overall terrible or good job, but when you bring in Stearns, he runs the damn thing.”
Now, the Mets have a president with a proven track record, who will be able to bring in his own people and begin executing their vision for the franchise. With that singular voice and direction from above, C-Mac says the Mets won’t be a laughing matter for much longer.
“Yeah, you can get a little chuckle if you’re anti-Met,” C-Mac said. “Today is an ending of the nonsense that has gone on.”
