Kyrie Irving has opted back into his deal with the Nets, but in a shocking development, Kevin Durant reportedly wants out of Brooklyn.
According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the Nets superstar has requested a trade just hours before free agency opening, potentially leading to a complete destruction of the superteam the franchise formed three years ago today.

During the 2019 offseason, the Nets signed Durant, Irving, and DeAndre Jordan, and later traded for James Harden. Now, Harden has already been traded away, Irving opted in after rumors of the point guard potentially being open to a sign-and-trade, and now the team’s best player wants out.
Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports reported that Durant has listed the Suns as his "preferred" next stop, while ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Heat are also on Durant's list, and that he asked team owner Joe Tsai directly to be traded.
Since signing on together in 2019, the Nets and Durant have won just one playoff series, and the soon-to-be 34-year-old might be looking for a change to chase another title as he approaches what will likely be the final years of his career. But he still has four years left on his deal, and given the level of stardom he is still playing at, a return haul for Durant will likely be historic.
