Morash goes scorched earth on Yankees culture, lack of accountability

In the wake of the Yankees being swept away by the mediocre Reds in the Bronx this week, Shaun Morash opened Friday’s show by ripping the team and its current culture, which he says is likened to a little league team that is told to just have fun before all going out for pizza after the game.

“Embarrassing isn’t even the word used right now to describe the way I or any Yankee fan should feel today,” Morash said. “I was under the impression that being a Yankee meant something. It’s very clear that I’m wrong about that.”

Morash sounded off on the state of the Bombers, widely regarded as the best team in baseball before flatlining in recent weeks, as the starting rotation has taken a collective nosedive, the bullpen continues to struggle logging strikeouts, and the lineup outside of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto fails to generate much of anything.

But also the play of Trent Grisham in center field, who Morash called out for dogging it after a flare into center field in the ninth inning on Thursday.

“Why does Trent Grisham think it’s okay to treat a ball into center field like he is on the losing team in a charity game against the Savannah Bananas?” Morash said. “The manager of course has no problem with it publicly after the game...this is now the Yankee culture. I would have ripped him off the field and played Jose Trevino in canter field.

“There is no fear anymore for repercussions on the Yankees…make an error, the worst you’ll get is two games on the bench like Gleyber Torres, and that was after two months of garbage baseball.”
