Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver and kick and punt returner Marquez Stevenson practiced for the first time this regular season on Tuesday, opening his 21-day window to be activated to the 53-man roster.
Stevenson has been on Injured Reserve all regular season dealing with the foot injury he suffered in the team’s 41-15 win over the Chicago Bears in the second week of the preseason.
In that same game, Stevenson, whose nickname is “Speedy” due to his explosive speed, scored a touchdown on a 79-yard punt return.
When asked if it’s possible Stevenson could play in the Bills' Thursday night game against the New Orleans Saints, head coach Sean McDermott said, “everything is on the table, at this point.”
Stevenson was selected by the Bills in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of the University of Houston.
If he is not placed on the active roster within the next 21 days, Stevenson will revert back to I.R. for the remainder of the season.
McDermott also said that both wide receiver Cole Beasley (ribs) and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds (hamstring) would be full participants during Tuesday’s practice, which was held inside the ADPRO Sports Training Center. Edmunds has missed the last two games due to his injury.
