For the third time in his NFL career, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has been named as the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
This time, the third-year Bills quarterback earns the AFC Offensive Player of the Week honor after his impressive 415-yard and four-touchdown passing performance in Buffalo's Week 2 matchup with the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium in South Florida.
So far in the first two weeks of the 2020 season, Allen leads the NFL in passing yards (729) and the Buffalo offense is the top-ranked passing attack, averaging 359.5 yards per-game. The 24-year-old is also completing 70.4% of his pass attempts through two games, which is good for eighth place among starting quarterbacks.
After becoming the first Bills quarterback to surpass the 300-yard passing mark in a game since Tyrod Taylor in 2016 during the season opener against the New York Jets, Allen became the first Bills quarterback to eclipse the 400-yard passing mark in a game since Drew Beldsoe did so in 2002.
Allen becomes the third player in franchise history to earn Offensive Player of the Week honors from the NFL three times, joining Pro Football Hall of Famers Thurman Thomas and Jim Kelly.
In addition, all three of Allen's Offensive Player of the Week performances have come after playing the Dolphins since his rookie year in 2018. The first honor came following the Bills' Week 17 win over the Dolphins in his rookie season in Orchard Park, while his other honor came following the team's Week 11 win last season in Miami.
The Bills will face the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday in Orchard Park at Bills Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. on WGR with coverage beginning at 7 a.m. with Breakfast with the Bills - Fantasy Style.
