Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills looked for some sweet revenge in Sunday's Week 11 matchup against their well-known rivals in the Kansas City Chiefs. Revenge is best served at home, and revenge is what the Bills got over the Chiefs in a 30-21 victory at Highmark Stadium.
Sunday's victory was achieved from a very well-executed game plan on both sides of the ball.
Offensively, the Bills gave the Chiefs headaches, as Josh Allen threw for 262 passing yards, recorded a passing touchdown, and also recorded the game-sealing 26-yard rushing touchdown with 2:17 remining on the clock in the fourth quarter.
Crediting the offense, this is the Bills' fifth-consecutive game scoring 30-or-more points in their 2024 campaign.
Defensively, the Bills kept the pressure on Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes throughout the duration of the game. Mahomes was sacked twice, and fired two interceptions, one of which was on the Chiefs' opening drive in the first quarter.
"What else can you say? Just an incredible effort in all the phases," said McDermott during his postgame press conference on Sunday.
While McDermott is extremely fired up about the victory going into the bye week, he's even more excited about the young guys on the team experiencing a winning, loud, and playoff-like atmosphere at home.
"These young guys, seeing the atmosphere, having to go out there and play, the experience that a lot of these guys are getting through the fact that they're young, but also through some of the course of the injuries that we've dealt with is good, in terms of building up wisdom," McDermott said.
