Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - In the opening hours of the NFL's "legal tampering" period, the Buffalo Bills have reportedly agreed to terms with cornerback Dee Alford on a three-year contract.
ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler was the first to report the signing, adding the deal is worth $21 million, with $10.2 million of that money being guaranteed money.
Alford spent the last four seasons playing with the Atlanta Falcons, where he developed in a corner that played a combined 2,121 snaps on defense over the last three seasons. Over his 64 games played in Atlanta, Alford got 23 starts and recorded 216 combined tackles, 10 tackles for loss, five quarterback hits, 3.5 sacks, 37 passes defended, four interceptions, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
This past season in the Falcons' 24-14 win over the Bills at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Alford recorded six combined tackles, while sacking quarterback Josh Allen once, defending three passes his way and also reeled in an interception.
Before his career in the NFL, Alford spent two seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League after spending his college football days playing with Division II Tusculum University. With the Blue Bombers in 2021, he was named the team's representative for the Most Outstanding Rookie honor in the league, and helped Winnipeg win a second-consecutive Grey Cup.
The Bills can make this signing official at the start of the new league year on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.
