Bucs star Tom Brady took ESPN's SportsCenter to task on social media on Wednesday, saying he was stiffed on proper attribution to his podcast.
The strange episode unfolded when SportsCenter posted a graphic featuring a quote which was lifted from Brady on his podcast, "Let's Go."
What the post didn't feature, apparently to Brady's annoyance, was a link back to the podcast itself.
"Apparently gone are the days of including the link to the show," Brady said.
The quote in question pertained to what Brady sees as a new era at the quarterback position in the NFL, with so many rookie quarterbacks now starting.
ESPN reporter Adam Schefter, apparently looking to make good on behalf of the Worldwide Leader, then shared the link to Brady's podcast with his 8.5 million followers.
The network and its various imprints have long been accused of sketchy practices with respect to attribution. This time, they ran afoul of someone in Brady who has the incentive to promote his new endeavor, and the reach to draw plenty of attention to it.
