For a burrito to soar 100 yards through the air, it's got to have some mass.
I've had some completely overstuffed burritos before, my favorite being those of Pancheros Mexican Grill, found with some frequency along the East Coast but, to my knowledge, not available out West. So I'm going to assume the burrito that was launched out of a cannon 100 yards was not a Pancheros burrito.
But that's not really the important part of the story here. What's important is that a burrito was launched 100 yards out of a cannon and was caught by none other than the greatest receiver in NFL history, Jerry Rice, as part of a Postmates campaign.
Postmates obviously doesn't discriminate among burrito brands, so it could have been Pancheros, or Chipotle, or Qdoba, or Moe's, or whichever other ones you might prefer. And above all else, Postmates can deliver at all costs, as seen here.
Not only is this a record for the longest burrito catch. Jerry Rice is also the first player in NFL history to catch something that contains himself — lots of Rice — inside it... or not. I forgot about Montee Ball (29 career receptions) and Larry Foote (4 career interceptions).
Somehow, this was only the second most impressive feat that I saw from a retired sports legend in their mid 50s this week.
